USANA Health Sciences RESET program

Here is some information on the program.

USANA’s RESET program starts with a five-day high-fibre cleanse to regulate your blood sugars. This easy to follow program eliminates all high-glycemic foods from your diet and helps you lose those carbohydrate cravings! Once your blood sugars are regulated, you are ready to move on to the Transform phase and maintain phases as outlined below.

1. First 5 days

RESET comes pre-packaged with shakes, bars and vitamins for a 5 day period. You are also encouraged to have some additional fruit and vegetables during this time. Drink 8-10 glasses of water every day and avoid strenuous exercise and athletic activity. Walk for 20-30 minutes every day. This phase helps you lose cravings for high-glycemic foods.

2. Transform

Now that you’ve lost the cravings for high-glycemic food you’re ready to lose more weight. At this stage you can eat one, low-glycemic meal a day (use phase 1 recipes from our cookbook) and take two servings of NUTRIMEAL per day. You have the option of incorporating low-glycemic bars as snacks or choose something from our cookbook under the heading of PHASE 1 snacks. Stay on this phase until you’ve reached your goal weight. You are also encouraged to continue with an exercise program that includes both cardio and weight bearing exercise.

3. Maintain

Congratulations! You have now reached your goal weight and have learned how to incorporate low-glycemic eating into your new lifestyle of healthy eating. This is where you now introduce phase 2 recipes from our book into your menu planning. These recipes have a low to moderate glycemic index. You may choose to incorporate a shake into your meal planning as well. Remember to keep up your exercise programs. Try something new to avoid boredom
