Take Time to de-stress!

This weekend Cheryl and I are visiting friends at Deka Lake in the Cariboo of British Columbia. We had a busy week with work - lots of presentation, phone calls and meetings. You sometimes get so wrapped up in your work life that you don't make the time to kick back and enjoy the outdoors, relax and de-stress.

It has been raining a lot so when we woke up today the sun was shining. Fanstastic!!! I felt great after 9 hours of sleep too. Nothing like being out in the country - fresh air and lots of exercise. We had an excellent low-glycemic breakfast of fresh fruit salad, sprouted grain bagels, scrambled eggs and a variety of nut butters. Our first event was a 2 hour bike ride - we were all covered in mud but loved the feeling of getting down and dirty!

When we got home - under Cheryl's enthusiastic direction we did exercises with resistance bands. ( travelling with a personal trainer has it benefits .... or some would say..... more exercise....... Cheryl... give us a break!!!)

We had a great lunch and then went for a long walk. Now, we are all relaxing, reading and enjoying how great we feel after a day of exercise, fresh air and lots of laughs. Sometimes it takes a weekend away from the home office to get back to the wholesome lifestyle - and truly relax and be thankful for all the wonderful friends and activities that we can enjoy in our own backyard!
