Fresh Cherries are Low GI

I love cherries! My neighbour has a cherry tree in Kamloops and they so graciously allow me to pick the cherries. I have frozen a batch, dried some and eaten all the rest. Cherries are not only low glycemic but loaded in antioxidants, including anthocyanins — the pigments that give cherries their bright red color. There is growing body of scientific research has linked cherries to anti-inflammatory benefits, reduced pain from gout and arthritis and an extensive list of heart health benefits. Check out this link for a report for further scientific research on cherries.
