Assessing a good diet plan!

Information overload!

There is so much information about "healthy eating", via magazines, newsprint, books and of course, on the internet, that one can become discouraged when trying to make some sound nutritional changes.  How can the average person know if the information comes from science based research?  Fad diets are always going to pop up, promising amazing results and quick fixes.  Did you know that 98% of the people who go on a "diet", fail.  They usually regain the weight within 2 years, and typically have added ADDITIONAL weight.  If the individual does not make the necessary lifestyle changes to maintain a healthy weight, they may have invested a lot of money, time and effort for nothing.
